Five Prop Bets For The August 10th MLB Slate

San Diego Padres at Miami Marlins

Matt Waldron (7-9) vs. Roddery Munoz (2-6)

Jackson Merrill Over 0.5 Home Runs

Padres rookie Jackson Merrill has been the best hitter in baseball this week. Merrill over his last five games is hitting for a slashline of .526/.565/1.211 for a 1.776 OPS. Merrill hit three home runs over that five game stretch as well. The matchup is favorable for the young left handed hitter, as the Padres are facing right handed pitcher Roddery Munoz. Munoz has a 5.68 ERA on the season and a 6.82 ERA at home. He’s given up six home runs in his last three starts, and against a tough Padres offense, could be due to give up more today.

Oakland Athletics at Toronto Blue Jays

Osvaldo Bido (2-3) vs. Yariel Rodriguez (1-4)

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 1.5 Total Bases

Guerrero has been another one of baseball’s best hitters over the last seven days. Vladdy’s hitting .444 in 18 at bats over the last five games, and is slugging at an .833 clip. Against Bido who has a 5.56 ERA in away starts this season, this could be a good play for one of the best hitters in baseball this season.

Los Angeles Angels at Washington Nationals

Griffin Canning (4-10) vs. Patrick Corbin (2-12)

James Wood Over 0.5 Hits

James Wood has continued to develop in his first big league stint. Over the last seven days, the Nationals top prospect has hit for a slashline of .333/.440/.667 for a 1.107 OPS. Against a right handed starter in Griffin Canning, Wood has the favorable matchup to hit his way on base. Canning has a 5.10 ERA this season, and gave up 29 hits across five starts in July. A young bat starting to have success at the big league level, a hit for Wood today is a good play.

Detroit Tigers at San Francisco Giants

TBA vs. Logan Webb (9-8)

Logan Webb Over 19.5 Pitching Outs

Logan Webb has been one of the best pitchers in the entire league over the last couple of weeks. Webb has a 0.61 ERA since his last two starts, and tossed a complete game shutout against the Oakland Athletics his last time out at home. Against a Tigers offense ranked 26th in the league with a .676 OPS as a team, Webb can be set to deal this afternoon. If Webb can keep the number of hits to around five, he should be able to hit the over on this line.

Baltimore Orioles at Tampa Bay Rays

Corbin Burnes (12-4) vs. Drew Rasmussen (0-0)

Corbin Burnes Over 18.5 Pitching Outs

Corbin Burnes is having a solid season with the Orioles, with a 2.63 ERA and a 12-4 record. Since the All Star break, Burnes has only pitched less than six innings in one outing, his most recent against the Cleveland Guardians. Against a Rays offense that traded away multiple key offensive pieces, Burnes could be poised to get back to his dominant ways.
