Dodgers right fielder Jason Heyward exited Los Angeles’ Thursday game against the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks due to left knee discomfort.
Heyward grounded out with two on for the final out of the first inning and was pulled after the second.
Teoscar Hernandez moved from left field to right field and Miguel Vargas entered the game in left field and batted in Heyward’s spot.
Signed to a one-year, $9 million contract on Dec. 6, Heyward is hitting .203 with four homers and 20 RBIs in 42 games this season. The 34-year-old missed six weeks with a back injury after playing in four games in March.
