The Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday activated right-hander Walker Buehler from the injured list for the second time this season after he recovered from right hip inflammation.
Buehler is scheduled to start Wednesday’s road game against the Milwaukee Brewers.
To make room on the active roster, right-hander Landon Knack was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
It is the second time Buehler has been activated from the IL after he returned in May following a two-year absence after the second Tommy John surgery of his career. In eight starts earlier this year, he went 1-4 with a 5.84 ERA.
Buehler, 30, is 47-20 with a 3.17 ERA in 123 career appearances (114 starts). He has been named an All-Star twice and finished fourth in National League Cy Young Award voting in 2021.
Knack, 27, pitched four innings in relief Tuesday against the Brewers to earn his first career save. The rookie is 2-2 with a 3.00 ERA in 10 career appearances (eight starts).
