Bleacher Brothers Final Regular Season MLB Power Rankings

With the Postseason underway, it’s time to look back one last time and reflect on the regular season one last time with one final power rankings. Rounding out the season at the top spot is the Los Angeles Dodgers after finishing with a league leading 98 wins. Finishing out the top three are the Yankees and Phillies at two and three after winning their divisions. The Brewers and Guardians round out the top five after winning their divisions as well. The Padres and Tigers follow the top five as the Tigers finish the regular season as the hottest team in baseball. The top ten finished out with the Orioles at eight, the Astros at nine after winning the AL West, and the Mets at ten after clinching before Atlanta in yesterday’s doubleheader.

  1. Los Angeles Dodgers (98-64)

Key Performer: Shohei Ohtani .520 BA | 1.371 OPS | 13 H | 7 RBI | 4 SB

The Dodgers took care of business in their final week of the regular season, winning a series over the Padres and sweeping the Rockies to end the year on a five game winning streak. Led by Shohei Ohtani continuing to add to his 50/50 year, the Dodgers look dangerous as ever going into the NLDS.

  1. New York Yankees (94-68)

Key Performer: Gleyber Torres .350 BA | .909 OPS | 7 H | 3 2B

The Yankees didn’t necessarily have the greatest end to their season, but they managed to do their job and clinch the gauntlet of the AL East. While Judge and Soto will be relied on the most as the Yankees dynamic duo, Gleyber Torres’ production out of the leadoff spot has been incredible, and he wrapped his season up in the best way possible.

  1. Philadelphia Phillies (95-67)

Key Performer: Nick Castellanos .462 BA | 1.000 SLG | 1.500 OPS | 6 H | 2 2B | 1 3B | 1 HR

The Phillies clinched the NL East title as everyone expected they would, but dropped their final series to the Nationals. Nick Castellanos finished what was an incredible full 162 game season for the Phillies, tallying a handful of extra base hits.

  1. Milwaukee Brewers (93-69)

Key Performer: Jake Bauers .300 BA | .964 OPS | 1 HR

The Brewers had the division clinched and won 93 games, deservingly making the top five. While the usual production comes from guys like Willy Adames, William Contreras and Jackson Chourio, Jake Bauers had a great week to end off the 2024 regular season.

  1. Cleveland Guardians (92-69)

Key Performer: Jose Ramirez .500 BA | 1.286 SLG | 1.786 OPS | 2 HR | 18 TB | 6 RBI

Cleveland settled a tough division way faster than expected to many, but a disappointing end to some fans as Jose Ramirez wasn’t able to reach the 40/40 club this season.

  1. San Diego Padres (93-69)

Key Performer: Xander Bogaerts .389 BA | .844 OPS | 7 H | 3 RBI | 8 TB

The Padres failed to take the NL West, but ultimately still claimed a Wildcard spot easily. With how well rounded this ball club already is, seeing Xander Bogaerts come into the postseason producing like he did last week could be a great sign for the offense in October.

  1. Detroit Tigers (86-76)

Key Performer: Parker Meadows .364 BA | .962 OPS | 8 H | 12 TB

The Tigers went 7-3 in their last 10 games to end the season, maintaining their status as the hottest team in baseball. The offense continues to rally, headlined by Parker Meadows currently after a phenomenal final week of the regular season.

  1. Baltimore Orioles (91-71)

Key Performer: Ryan O’Hearn .400 BA | 1.179 | 8 H | 2 HR | 5 RBI | 15 TB

The Orioles struggled through the end but managed to still claim a home field advantage in the Wildcard series. While Ryan O’Hearn was great this week, the Orioles need guys like Adley, Gunnar Henderson, and Anthony Santander to step up in October.

  1. Houston Astros (88-73)

Key Performer: Alex Bregman: .500 BA | 1.000 SLG | 1.455 OPS | 5 H | 2 2B | 1 HR

Alex Bregman led the Astros to a postseason berth towards the end of this season and the Astros now look to continue their history of postseason dominance over the American League.

  1. New York Mets (89-73)

Key Performer: Francisco Lindor .353 BA | 1.127 OPS | 6 H | 2 HR | 5 RBI | 12 TB | 2 SB

The Mets look like the team of destiny heading into this postseason in the National League after an improbable regular season. Led by an MVP caliber Francisco Lindor, they will be a tough scrappy team to knock out of this postseason.
