ASTROS 8 – RANGERS 5
Tell the Rangers to put away the brooms because the the Houston Astros found their bats again.
Wednesday night in Arlington Texas saw the Houston Astros travel north on the the I-45 freeway to avoid the sweep. Being an Astros fan I thought this could be the beginning of the end for my team. Not so fast, in the second inning Max Scherzer’s wild pitch put the Astros on the board for their first lead of the series. With Maldonado’s RBI single made it 3-0 second inning. If you watched this game you’d be asking yourself, what happened to Scherzer?
Jose Altuve even got out of his little slump and jacked a homer to make it 4-0 Astros third inning. Fast forward to the 5th inning the Astros had a commanding 5-0 lead and the Rangers rookie third baseman Josh Jung cranks a 2 run homer. That guy scares me, he went on to hit another homer in the 7th.
Now late in the game the Astros put up an insurance run for a 8-4 lead. I’m looking forward to my bullpen to step up, but Garcia hits a RBI single. When I saw Ryan Pressley come in for the save, I felt better. The Astros would hold on for a 8-5 win.
The Astros needed this win, but it’s so frustrating to see this year’s team to have a sub .500 record at home. That’s great they won in Arlington but can they get a win at home?
