The Astros started their 1st inning off with a RBI single from Yordan Alvarez that scored Jose Altuve for a 1-0 lead. The Rangers answered back with a line drive homer from Mitch Garver to tie it up. The Rangers seemed to be on a mission, soon after in the the 4th inning Jonah Heim hit a 2 run homer to make it 3-1 Rangers.
The Astros had some life in the 6th inning, with a Mauricio Dubon sacrifice fly. 3-2 Rangers. The Astros squandered the bases loaded after that.
In the the 9th inning the Rangers finished off the Astros. Seager was hit by a pitch and it set up the bases loaded for Garcia. Remember Adolis Garcia was hit by Abreu. Garcia hit a grand slam to seal the win for the Rangers 9-2.
The Astros looked good early against Eovaldi. Altuve hit a leadoff single and stole second base before Brantley walked. There was one out in the inning when Alvarez lined a single to center field to score Altuve and make it 1-0. Eovaldi limited the damage when Abreu lined out before Tucker struck out.
It’s winner take all Monday night. It looks like Sherzer and Javier will have a rematch.
