Quills Picks Winners – Wednesday 6/26 – Horseshoe Indianapolis Race 8 – Nobody Listens Handicap

Horseshoe Indianapolis Race 8 – Nobody Listens Handicap

We head to Horseshoe Indianapolis for Wednesday’s Quills Picks Winners and we will look at the Nobody Listens Handicap which is a six furlong sprint on the main track for Indiana-bred three-year-olds and up. Post time for today’s featured race is for 5:47 pm Eastern time.

Occasionally, I like to bring some history with names of certain races. Today is a perfect example of that. Though you mind may wonder where they came up with this name, the race is actually named for a gelding who was based out of Horseshoe Indianapolis and won the Turf Monster at Parx last September over a yielding turf course on the Pennsylvania Derby undercard, but tragically passed away in an accident on his way home from the graded stakes victory.

Horseshoe Indianapolis honors the memory of this gelding who won 14 times in 26 career starts who won on dirt, turf and synthetic tracks with this race today with a full field of 12 horses.

Horseshoe Indianapolis Nobody Listens

Favored in today’s Nobody Listens Handicap is the 10 Mr. Chaos (7/2 morning line) who will face several horses here who he defeated in the William Henry Harrison Stakes at Horseshoe Indianapolis last time out. He stalked behind the leaders and made a five-wide turn on the far turn to drive by Pickle Feet in deep stretch to win by almost a length. Mr. Chaos draws near the outside today and might have that same wide trip today.

The 7 Pickle Feet (8/1 ML) dueled all the way around but not hold off today’s morning line favorite. Pickle Feat does run his best races at or near the front, but there appears to be a ton of speed in this race.

The 2 Classic Max (4/1 ML) has consistently gone for the lead and I wouldn’t expect anything else. He’s coming back from a two and a half month break after just missing last time in one of the special handicap races Horseshoe Indianapolis had on Eclipse Day.

The 3 Butch’s Best (15/1 ML) will do the same thing after winning gate to wire last month in a claiming race. He looks like a bounce candidate here after an eye popping performance compared to his 2024 debut a month prior.

The 4 C. J’s Storm (10/1 ML) was up there as well in the Harrison and was also outfinished in that race. He has shown that he can rate behind the leaders and might have to do that to have a shot today.

The 9 Follow the Money (6/1 ML) should benefit from a speed duel down the backstretch. He is shortening to a six-furlong sprint here today after finishing second to a runaway winner going a mile. He might be better suited to going two turns, but this might be a race that melts down on the front end.

The 12 Win Me Over (10/1 ML) will be on the outside here and could be stalking behind the leaders here ready to pounce just like how the morning line favorite did last time out. His win last month at Horseshoe Indianapolis was on the slop, which could be the main track condition today with rain in the forecast.

I think this is a race here where the horses that stalk and close will benefit from a fast pace. But we may also see a few scratches here with rain in the forecast. I’ll take a chance on beating the favorite with the outside horse here, the 12 Win Me Over to win the Nobody Listens Handicap here at Horseshoe Indy. I’ll call this 12-9-10-4 and my play is $20 to win on the 12. Good luck everyone!
