There’s about three weeks left in the Tampa Bay Downs season, so we will head there for our usual Wednesday stop as we will look at the seventh race today which is a race for three-year-old claimers going one mile on the turf course. Post time for these $20,000 claimers is for approximately 3:22 pm Eastern time.
Favored in this race is the 5 It’s Goodtobe Jose (5/2 morning line) who has been near the front or on the lead her three attempts going two turns on the turf. She tired badly and drops in class here. She could be dangerous here as there does not appear to be much in the way of front-running speed here.
The 3 Platinum Diva (3/1 ML) won this same conditional race last time out and looks to repeat here. She passed the loose leader on the final turn and won going away last time out, and that scenario could take play again today.
Trendy (#6, 5/1 ML) returns to the $20,000 level after in an okay race last time out where the winner went gate to wire going longer. If the favorite repeats her performance from last time out, she will be closer than the five lengths she was behind the winner.
The 2 Turbo Millie (6/1 ML) finished third in the race that Platinum Diva drew off on last time out. Her maiden breaker was an off the turf race, but she has a second and a third in two races. A similar performance like will have her on the board in the end.
I think Platinum Diva will have a repeat performance as the morning line favorite will drop back again. I’ll call the 3-6-5-2 and my play is $20 to win on the 3. Good luck everyone!
