We head home, at least for me today, as we head to Parx for today’s feature race. For those that choose to dabble, they have a mandatory distribution of their Big 5 wager (pick 5) today that encompasses the final five races on the card. I’ll take a look at the ninth race of the Thanksgiving Eve card as we will look at the final of their four stakes races on the card.
Parx Racing Race 9 – Cornucopia Stakes
The Cornucopia Stakes is the final of four stakes races on the holiday eve card. We have nine fillies and mares going six and a half furlongs in the penultimate race on the card.
We will have at least one scratch that will reduce the field down to eight. The 6 Disco Ebo ran Monday at Mahoning Valley finishing third.
Favored in today’s race is the 5 Speedy Traveler (2/1 ML). She comes in from Churchill Downs for this race at Parx. In that race she went gate to wire to win an optional claiming race at seven furlongs. She returns after a two-month break here with a race that could potentially be a stepping stone race for a 2025 campaign.
If there is a filly that will challenge the favorite on the front end today, It will be the 8 Talk to the Judge (8/1 ML). She has consistently ran on the front end throughout her 12-race career. She has the speed to contend at the start of the race, but she is usually not around at the end.
The 1 Confirmed Star (9/2 ML) draws the rail for this race. She has three wins and two thirds in five tries at this distance. She will hope for a speed duel up front here today because she is the filly that will pick up the pieces if that scenario comes into play here.
The 2 Bourbon Bon Bay (5/1 ML) is making her second start off of a 13-month layoff finishing fifth at Laurel in her first finish off the board. It is a great sign that she is not on the sideline yet again as this seven-year-old mare has only run seven times in her career. She has the ability to stalk when she is right and she loves today’s distance.

Those that have read these articles know that I have been on a bad cold streak over the last few weeks. I admit, I’m more worried about my win percentage than my return on investment or what I am making and losing. But every day is a great opportunity to start a turn around. That’s how I am seeing this here today.
I love the 5 Speedy Traveler here today. She has a decided class edge here today coming in from Churchill to race at Parx today. I think she will romp over this field. You probably won’t get 2/1 odds, but like I said, sometimes this is about the winning percentage.
