Like Finger Lakes, Horseshoe Indianapolis is winding down their 2024 meet. Today we will look at one of their races for the final time as we have a field of nine going six furlongs on the main track.
Horseshoe Indianapolis Race 10 – Allowance Race
Favored in today’s race is the 2 Molly’s Town (8/5 ML). He ran against handicap company in his last two races. His best races are on the front end, but he has shown that he can rally when he falls behind. He has never been off the board at Horseshoe Indianapolis, winning six times in ten tries with three seconds and a third.
The 3 Latigo (9/5 ML) will be stalking the pace here. He does have a win over Molly’s Town, winning here in September coming off of a nine-month layoff. His lifetime record here at Indy is just as impressive as the favorite, as this gelding is 8 for 16 lifetime with four seconds and two thirds.
The 4 Bowstreet (10/1 ML) could be challenging the morning line favorite for the lead here. He was on the front end and tired at Keeneland last month. He is two for two here at Indy with both those wins over this summer.
The 6 Echo Again (6/1 ML) finished third in his debut at Horseshoe Indianapolis after showing a closing kick over the summer at Ellis Park. This race could set up nicely for him if a speed duel develops.
Joe’s Pick
The two kings of this track, at least when it comes to this race, are Molly’s Town and Latigo. They do battle at Horseshoe Indianapolis for one last time here in 2024, and I think Latigo will win the battle. But in the end, I think Echo Again will close to win this race today as I think there is enough speed in this race to see him close and win in the final strides.
I am calling this race 6-3-2-4 and my play is $20 to win on the 6. Best of luck everyone, and see ya in the winner’s circle!
