We stay at Parx for Tuesday’s race, and in today’s sixth race, we have $5,000 claimers going six furlongs on the main track. This field of eight will head to the gate for a 2:20 pm Eastern time post.
Parx Racing Race 6 – Claiming 5k
Favored in today’s race is the 1 Baafeed (2/1 morning line). Something went amiss with this gelding despite closing well after a bad start to win. The claim that was in for him was voided and he returns after a three-month break. He drops to the bottom here and if things are right with this gelding, he should win this race.
The 7 Pylon (3/1 ML) finished second three weeks ago here at Parx with some trouble getting bumped around in the stretch. I doubt that this gelding would have won last time out, but he did give a great effort to just miss last time out. A similar effort without the bumping in the stretch could mean that he gets his picture taken.
The 6 Power Agenda (9/2 ML) quickly returns to race here today after a lackluster performance last Monday here at Parx. He drops from optional claiming down to the bottom here today and will look to be competitive here today.
The 2 Catch My Vibe (12/1 ML) closed well three races back here at Parx at today’s distance. But in both races since he has shown nothing. If he returns to the form that he has had earlier in the year then he has a shot here today.
Joe’s Pick
This looks like a two horse race between the 1 Baafeed and the 7 Pylon. If Baafeed is right he might win by about 10 lengths. But you know what they say, the races are run on the track and not on paper.
I think that Pylon did have some issues in the stretch, but I think it did not affect him that much despite the obvious trouble getting bumped around in the stretch. Let’s take Pylon to win this race today. I’ll call it 7-1-6-2 and my play is $20 to win on the 7. Best of luck everyone and I’ll see you in the winner’s circle!
