After a heartbreaking defeat yesterday, we return to Gulfstream Park for today’s race as we head to the turf course for today’s race. Older horses today will race one mile on the turf in a starter allowance race.

Gulfstream Park Race 9 – Starter Allowance
Favored in today’s race is the 2 Walley World (5/2 morning line). This colt last time out rallied between horses to win going today’s distance. He is second race off of a layoff, so I am expecting him to close here today.
The 3 Four Top (3/1 ML) closed well going today’s distance at Gulfstream last month where he may have made his move too soon. He finished second in that race and steps up in class for today’s race on the turf. Since his return from his layoff, he has two wins and that second last time out.
The 5 Tabingo (4/1 ML) should be closer to the pace then the aforementioned horses. This gelding is a neck away from being three for three lifetime in race son the dirt and synthetic. His pedigree does not scream turf, but he should make the transition from synthetic to grass.
The 1 Media Sensation (6/1 ML) will also be forwardly placed. He finished third on the turf two races back at Gulfstream facing a field of claimers going longer. He returns to the turf after finishing third last month in an optional claiming race on the Tapeta.

Joe’s Pick
There is some speed in this race, and even if there wasn’t, this would be a sprint to the finish that would benefit the two closers, Walley World and Four Top. I think in the end, Walley World has faced tougher and that will be the difference in his win as we praise Marty Moose!!!
I’m calling this race 2-3-5-1 and my play is $20 to win on the 2. Best of luck everyone and I will see you in the winner’s circle!
