Thursday 2/8 – Gulfstream Race 8
Let’s take our weekly trek from Tampa Bay Downs to Gulfstream for today’s eighth race on their Thursday card, as 13 horses are entered for the penultimate race of the day, going five furlongs on the Tapeta. Post time for today’s QPW race is scheduled for 3:39 pm ET.
The favorite here is the 6 Pretty Liam (9/5 ML) is the favorite here and rightfully so. She was impressive in her debut going this distance. This could be a carbon copy of her opener as she tries to start out two for two. She moved up last out and powered away.
It looks like Imaboutago (#8, 8/1 ML), the 11 Demar’s Legacy (8/1 ML) and 12 San Pantaleo (5/1 ML) could all be dueling for the lead which would set things up nicely for the favorite here.
The 9 Bubbly Champagne (6/1 ML) should be stalking but she might have a wide trip just like she did last time out in December. The 7 Fairhopecurly (12/1 ML) should also be looking for horses to pass in the stretch as well.
