Thursday 12/14/23 – Aqueduct Race 7
Let’s go back to a familiar site here, at least on Thursdays, as we head to Aqueduct for the seventh race on Thursday, which is a New York bred allowance race for females going one lap (a mile and an eighth) around the Jamaica, Queens oval. Post time is 3:40 pm ET. Let’s see if we can get a winner home here.
This is an interesting race here as most of these horses have not run on the dirt at this distance, so we might get a price here. It looks like the 2 Saratoga Kisses (4/1 morning line) and the 8 Maggie T (3/1 ML) appear to be the speed in this race. This appears to set things up for the horses that will be closing here. The 1 Just a Nyquist (5/1 ML) is stepping up in class here after a $14,000 claimer last out who I think won’t be far off the lead.
You should Include in this the 4 Bernt Again (4/1 ML) who is second race off a layoff who is coming off of a turf race last out. The 5 Smokie Eyes (7/2 ML) was in that same last race as the 4, and could be right there with the 4 in the end.
But I am going to go with a bit of a longshot here in this race. I’m going with the 7 Racing Colors (12/1 ML) here, as she only lost by 3 lengths and appeared to have good energy there.
My pick for Thursday is 7-5-4-2, and my wager is $10 to win on the 7 Racing Colors. Good luck everyone, and Friday, we have a Kentucky Derby Prep Race to look at!
