We stay at Gulfstream Park for another day. Today, we are looking at three-year-old fillies going a mile and a sixteenth on the main track. Eight fillies are entered for this optional claiming event.

Gulfstream Park Race 8 – Allowance Optional Claiming
The 1 Indeed (5/2 morning line) is favored in our featured race today. She broke her maiden at this distance last time out. She will have the rail just like last time out which could be an advantage here today. I am looking for her to be near the pace today.
The 2 Decadent (7/2 ML) impressively defeated a short field last month on the slop here at Gulfstream in her debut. She is facing winners for the first time here, but I am wondering if she will eventually become a sprinter later in the year or not. But if she wins this race, we could see her in stakes company next.
The 6 Paradise City (3/1 ML) finished second in the Cash Run on New Year’s Day at Gulfstream but was nowhere near the runaway winner. She will need to move forward off this, but she could reach the paradise called the winner’s circle today.

The 8 Beauty Reigns (9/2 ML) draws the outside post for today’s race, but that post should not be that bad for the quick run up to the first turn. She didn’t show that much in the Demoiselle at Aqueduct almost two months ago. She comes to South Florida today looking for some class relief. There is a possibility she can get back on track here today at what may be a nice price.
Joe’s Pick
Paradise City and Beauty Reigns appear to be the fillies who can handle these two turns best. Though Beauty Reigns did have a tough go at Aqueduct last time in Grade 2 company, she should be able to bounce back. I’ll take her to win this here today.
I’m calling this race 8-6-1-2 and my play is $20 to win on the 8. Best of luck everyone and I’ll see you in the winner’s circle!
