After a successful trip home to Parx with multiple winners, we head up I-95 to Aqueduct for today’s QPW. We have New York bred two-year-olds racing seven furlongs in the Bertram F. Bongard Stakes. This is an early post today with a post time of 2:03 pm Eastern time.
Aqueduct Race 3 – Bertram F. Bongard Stakes
Favored in today’s race is the 4 Manhattan Twist (8/5 ML). He went gate to wire in his debut last month at Saratoga. It appeared he may tire in his debut, but he dug in to win. That race will help him today.
The 1 Sacrosanct (2/1 ML) stalked and drew off in the stretch in his debut at Saratoga. A similar race today will lead him back to the winner’s circle.
The 5 Smilensaycheese (4/1 ML) had all kinds of trouble in the Funny Cide Stakes last month at Saratoga. He was bumped around at the start of the race and blew the turn and finished dead last. One thing led to another last time out. A cleaner start will be the first variable here that will help this colt today.
The 6 Buttah (15/1 ML) had an outside post and was wide last time out to break his maiden. He has an outside post again, but there is less horseflesh to deal with here today. This colt will need to improve even more to win this race here today.

I like what I see from Sacrosanct here. I am concerned about the speed from Manhattan Twist here as well, but he will enjoy the rail trip and winning here today. Let’s call this 1-4-5-6 and my play is $20 to win on the 1. Best of luck everyone!
