We head down south to Louisiana Downs for today’s QPW, and we have Louisiana-bred fillies and mares going a mile and a sixteenth on the turf course. Post time for this race is for 5:30 pm Eastern time.
We do have a main-track-only entrant in the 10 Star’s Dream (15/1 morning line). Expect her to be scratched as this race should remain on the turf here in Bossier City.
Favored here is the 7 Our Amen (3/1 ML) who has run well in her three attempts on the turf this year at Louisiana Downs. She finished fourth in a blanket finish last month here and would be right there at the end again today. She will do her best running as they turn for home.
The 2 Kenya Strike (7/2 ML) rallied on the outside to win that blanket finish last time out in that blanket finish with Our Amen. She shouldn’t have to go wide on the final turn here today but she could repeat her performance here this afternoon.
The 6 She Told You So (8/1 ML) returns after a six-week break and moved up to this claiming level (12.5K) from the 8k level last time out. She has run well in her two turf attempts at Louisiana Downs and could be right there in the end as well.
The 4 Mo Classy (10/1 ML) may not have been a factor in the last few races but does a chance to improve here today.
When I look at these races, I look to see who is going to be on the front end, who are the closers, and other factors. This is a race devoid of speed. But this race should have an exciting finish in a race that could turn into a two- or three-furlong sprint.
I think Kenya Strike will have the opportunity to replicate last month’s performance without having to go wide on the final turn. Let’s go with her today winning in another close finish. I’ll call this 2-7-6-4 and my play is $20 to win on the 2. Good luck everyone!
