After a win yesterday at Gulfstream, we head west to Santa Anita for the eighth race on their card. In this race today, we have three-year-old fillies sprinting six furlongs on the track.
Santa Anita does not normally run on Mondays, but because of the wildfires in Southern California in January, this is a makeup card for the cancellations back then.
Santa Anita Race 8 – Claiming $12,500
The 5 Robin’s Tough Love (2/1 morning line) is the co-favorite here today. She finished second to Full Moon Grazen (#7, 2/1 ML co-favorite) last time out. Robin had a wide trip while the other co-favorite had a rail trip and outkicked her way to a win. These two fillies could be going at it in deep stretch yet again today.
The 6 Autism Inspiration (9/2 ML) had some trouble last time out having to check up at the start of the race then did not have a place to go at the quarter pole behind other horses. She found a way through and was then bumped in the stretch as well. It was an eventful trip, and a cleaner trip might get her to the winner’s circle.
The 1 Care for Autism (6/1 ML) faded badly last time out in the same race that the first three mentioned horses ran in at Santa Anita, She likes to be closer to the pace and will take advantage of her rail position.

If these horses don’t seem like they are your typical Santa Anita horses, they probably are not. The conditions on this race are horses that were based in Northern California after January 1, 2024 or entered for a tag of $20,000 or less in the last two races. Other than Robin’s Tough Love, the rest of this field were in Northern California before Golden Gate Fields closed and Pleasanton chose not to run races this year.
This could be a carbon copy of a month ago. But I think that enough issues with Autism Inspiration that I think she turns the tables on her foes today. She has been close in this special condition in each of her last two races and should be ready to win this today.
