After a winner at Aqueduct yesterday, we head home to Parx for a couple of days. We will take a look at today’s sixth race, as claimers will go a mile and 70 yards.
Also those that are reading this area that are not on the East coast, rain is in the forecast today at Parx and the mid-Atlantic region, so I am handicapping this race as a race that will be run on the slop today.
Parx Race 6 – Claiming $7500
Favored in this race is the 3 Hi Heeled Warrior (5/2 morning line). She comes in after finishing third in the slop last time out in a $5000 claiming race where she was claimed for the second straight race. She talked then took over the lead before tiring to finish third last time out. The slop should not be the problem here today, as she has two wins and two thirds in four attempts on an off track.
The 7 Obstinate (5/1 ML) rallied to finish second three weeks ago at Parx. She will be a couple of lengths off the lead here looking to make a move on the turn for home. She has two wins in eight tries with three seconds, but she doesn’t have a win on the off going since January 2023.
The 5 Catti La Belle (4/1 ML) comes into this race after finishing third last time out, half a length behind Obstinate. She has hit the board in six straight and eight out of her last nine. She likes this distance, but she has only one win in seven tries on off tracks.
The 6 Dixie Groove (5/1 ML) did not show much last time out at Parx last month, but she is back in the hands of a trainer which had a ton of success this year. She will have a late kick if she is right here.

This is a race that could completely fall apart with rain in the forecast today. But if most of the field holds here, I’ll take Catti La Belle here to win the sixth race here today at Parx.
