After taking the day off yesterday, we are back with a Monday at Parx. To preview this week, we are going to be crisscrossing the country. Usually, we have Mondays and Tuesdays at Parx, but to preview the week barring anything unforeseen, we are only going to be home for one day.
Parx Racing Race 6 – Claiming $15,000
As usual, we are looking at the sixth race today at Parx. I tried to say this last week and got the track condition wrong. But I think it is safe to say that the track will be muddy or sloppy today as rain was expected overnight into today. Handicap accordingly when you look at this race or any of the races at Parx today.
The 5 Iconic Legacy is the 5/2 morning line favorite for today’s race. He drops from a $25k tag where he was on the lead and could not keep up with the winner in the stretch. He will be on the front end today looking to bounce back here today.
The 6 Mac Daddy Too (4/1 ML) showed little last time out at Parx last month and was claimed for 25k. He drops to this tag today looking to bounce back. Two races back he went for the lead, but I think the best thing for him, if the race holds up with rain in the forecast, is to stalk behind the speed.
The 1 Runynesque (9/2 ML) took over at the top of the stretch against 10k claimers and won going away last month at Parx. He moves up to today’s tag but a similar trip could help him here with some of the other speed in this race.
The 8 Thirsty Pappy (8/1 ML) lost all chances at the start of the race last time out when he was bumped at the start. He has not had many races recently sprinting but he did win at seven furlongs two races back here at Parx.

I will warn you that with the rain, this race could totally fall apart and we have a short field here. But I think Runyonesque will get the trip here and take over after the dueling horses up front tire each other out. Let’s call this 1-8-6-5 and my play is $20 to win on the 1.
