We head to what has become our Monday stop as we head to Finger Lakes for today’s race. We have 12 two-year-old fillies going six furlongs. We also have a rarity here, where there are not one but two coupled entries here today.
Finger Lakes Race 6
As I said we do have two entries here. The 1 Only La Duss and 1A Staged Conflict (12/1 ML) will break from stalls number one and five respectively. The other coupled entry of the 2 Quartnect and 2B Chicazteca (10/1) will break from posts four and six.
The state of New York does have rules for coupled entries that I admit I do not completely know. For today’s race, I can tell you that they both have the same ownership and same trainer.
Favored in today’s race is the 6 Country Manor (3/1 ML). She hopped at the start but was near the front in her last race before fading. She was further back in her debut and closed well.
The 5 Ashtead Lady (4/1 ML) closed well last month at Finger Lakes in her first race against her own gender. She faced the boys in her debut but ducked in sharply.
The 2 Quartnect (10/1 ML) had to check at the start of the race and lost any chance of winning. She should improve here today. Also, you will get Chicazteca if you choice to play this horse today.
The 4 Divorced of Course (6/1 ML) has shown little in his three races at Saratoga and Aqueduct. The owners changed trainers who is a high percentage trainer at Finger Lakes. Michael Ferraro wins 41% out of 29 tries with entries he entered for the first time. Also, if you are a fan of blinkers on, that’s another angel.
Joe’s Pick
This may not be the best race in the country today, but it is a very interesting mental puzzle to solve. A similar rally like last time out for Ashtead Lady will get her to the winner’s circle. Let’s call this 5-4-2-6 and my play is $20 to win on the 5. Best of luck everyone!
