Wednesday 7/10 – Horseshoe Indianapolis Race 7
We head to the Midwest for another QPW as we head once again to Horseshoe Indianapolis for today’s seventh race, which is a claiming race for fillies and mares that have never won two races lifetime. They will go six furlongs on the main track on what should be a drying track after the remnants of Hurricane Beryl passed by yesterday.
Favored in today’s race is the 7 When’s Forever (1/1 morning line) who comes into today’s race after an effort where she tired against allowance foes last month at Horseshoe Indy finishing third in her first attempt against winners. She runs today with the same condition of non-winners of two, but she drops for a claiming tag for the first time in her career.
When’s Forever will be close to the pace and ready to pounce when they turn for home. She should be heavily favored here in this spot.
The 1 I Made It (4/1 ML) is third race off of the layoff here and she will be probably a length or two behind the favorite. She made a nice move each of her two races so far here at Horseshoe Indy and might get a better trip drawing the rail here today.
The 4 Comp (10/1 ML) hopped at the start of her last race which was her first race back after a two-month break. She returns after running last week and like the favorite here at Horseshoe Indy drops to a claiming race after facing winners for the first time against winners in an allowance race.
The 3 Sneakierthansarah (8/1 ML) should be the filly on the lead in this race here today at Horseshoe Indy. She has been on the lead each of her three lifetime starts, including a front-running effort in her debut. She has tired in her last two races, but with some of the runners that are not mentioned here, I would not be surprised that she finishes on the board here in the seventh race.
This is a big field entered and with the fact that the track did take rain yesterday, it is possible we will see some scratches here, and when I usually handicap these races, the track conditions can change. I will say that keep an eye out for the track changes when they are released. You might have to pivot away from some of these horses if they do not run today.
I am going to try to beat the favorite today. I know that this is going to be a tough task, but we know a horse could have a bad start or gets into some sort of trouble in the middle of the race that she horse does not give that effort you expect when you plunk your money down on her. Or, you might have a horse that has an effort where you ask where did that come from.
I don’t think When’s Forever will have a bad race. If she stalks right behind Sneakierthansarah she wins. But I do think that I Made It will be closer to the rail and have a better trip that should lead her to the winner’s circle at Horseshoe Indy. I will call this race 1-7-4-3 and my play is $20 to win on the 1 I Made It. Best of luck to everyone out there, and tomorrow, we hit the Spa!
