We head to the Midwest to Horseshoe Indianapolis for today’s QPW. We have eight horses entered for the third race on their card. The fillies and mares in this optional claimer will head to the gate around 3:12 pm Eastern time.
Favored in this race is the 2 Silvia (5/2 morning line). He comes over to Horseshoe Indy from Belterra Park in Cincinnati. Her best races are when she is forwardly places, like last time out going six and a half furlongs.
Loading next to her in the gate is the 3 The Kid Pataky (3/1 ML) who is also a front running filly that will be gunning for the lead with the favorite here. But Silvia has shown that she can occasionally rate behind the leaders unlike the 3 horse.
If you are looking for a horse with some back class, then you should look at the 4 Asset Purchase (6/1 ML). She is second race off of the layoff as well as second race since changing hands through a private purchase during that break. She has had good races at Aqueduct but found a new home in the Midwest after running at Belterra Park last time out in an off the turf sprint.
Keep an eye on the scratches and changes for the 1 In My Opinion (8/1 ML). She is cross entered into the third race tomorrow at Horseshoe Indianapolis, so there is a possibility she might be scratched today to run tomorrow. If she runs today, he did win last December at Laurel Park closing while very wide.
The 7 Simply Complicated (9/2 ML) gave way in the final quarter mile of a six-furlong tests last month at Horseshoe Indianapolis but still ran an okay third. She will have the opportunity to track the inside horses and take over in the stretch which if what I am expecting.
With the uncertainty of the 1 In My Opinion running, I’ll take Simply Complicated to take over in the stretch to win this race. Let’s call this 7-4-3-2 and my play is $20 to win on the 7. Best of luck everyone!
