Friday 12/22/23 – Gulfstream Park Race 2
We’re staying at Gulfstream Park for the Friday edition of Quills Picks Winners as we dissect race 7, which is a one-mile test for horses three-year-olds and up with an optional claiming tag of $62,500. There are eight horses entered for this race that has a projected post time of 3:06 pm Eastern Time. Weather should be fine the rest of the weekend (hint to wear the Saturday and Sunday races may be?) so let’s see what I can cook up here.
This race is going to set up perfectly for the 4 Dynamic One (6/5 morning line favorite). The 1 Picking Up Pennies (5/1 ML) and the 2 Black Belt (4/1 ML) will be gunning it out on the lead. The 3 Positive Review (8/1 ML) appears that he could be there as well. Dynamic One is running this as a prep for the $3 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational at the end of next month. If this horse is right after being on the bench for the last year, he should make easy work of this field.
Slim Slow Slider (#6, 10/1 ML) might be picking up the pieces if the speed duel happens like I think it will. The 8 Cooke Creek (9/2 ML) will be there too. I’ll go 4-8-6-3 in Gulfstream’s seventh race, and my play is $20 to win on the 4. Good luck everyone!
