Four caddies — including one fan — aid C.T. Pan on Sunday

C.T. Pan found himself receiving assistance from four different caddies during Sunday’s final round at the RBC Canadian Open in Hamilton, Ontario.

Mike “Fluff” Cowan, Pan’s caddie, slipped and fell on the third hole in the rainy conditions at Hamilton Golf and Country Club. The 76-year-old sustained “non-serious” injuries, per a PGA Tour official, and was shown watching the action from a golf cart.

A random fan, identified by NBC Sports as Paul Emerson, emerged from the crowd to briefly hold the bag for Pan. Canada’s Sportsnet reported Emerson was replaced by Mike Campbell, who works in caddie services at the club, on the fifth hole.

Alex Riddell, who serves as the caddie for Paul Barjon, replaced Campbell for the back nine. Riddell lives in Hamilton and was familiar with Pan from PGA Tour Canada. Sportsnet said Riddell was watching on television and went to the course to offer his services.

The pairing between Cowan and Pan is new. Cowan took over on Pan’s bag last month following his amicable split after 25 years with Jim Furyk (1999-2024). He previously caddied for Tiger Woods (1996-99).
