FAU following their series loss against East Carolina looks to get back in the win column against Miami. The Owls will travel down to Coral Gables for more midweek action against the Hurricanes. 2-0 against the Hurricanes this season, FAU will be looking to take the season long series here in game three, and head up to Wichita, Kansas for their next AAC series with another power five win.
Miami is coming into this game going through a pretty bad slump. The Hurricanes are currently on a six game losing streak, and haven’t won a game since Thursday March 28th, against #2 Clemson. Since then, Miami has dropped back to back ACC series, getting swept by Duke this past weekend, along with a loss to FAU last week as well. Their last three games have all been lost by one run, and they’ll look for some luck to go their way at their stadium on Tuesday.
FAU, while not on a six game losing streak, is coming off of a tough loss to East Carolina. The Owls narrowly missed beating the Pirates for a series win against the at the time #12 ranked team in the nation. They’ll be looking to get back on track as well, and keep up some of the offensive success they generated in the three game set against ECU.
The Owls offense will look to guys like Spencer Rich and Christian Adams to keep putting the ball in play to give the Owls pitching staff some run support after their tough series over the weekend. Guys like John Schroeder and Emilio Gonzalez will look to produce as usual for the Owls as well, but it’ll undoubtedly take a full offensive effort to takedown a Miami team for the third time, that’s already anxiously awaiting another chance to snap their six game losing streak.
Following this single game this week, FAU travels up to Wichita to take on the Wichita State Shockers in a three game series this weekend. The Shockers like FAU also hold a 5-4 conference record, and the Owls will look to jump ahead in the standings after this weekend hopefully with a series win.
