Nate Diaz wanted to let the world know there’s still a chance for him to get into the Octagon with Conor McGregor again. If they were to meet up again, it would cement their trilogy against one another, as they had fought twice in 2016.
Nate Diaz And McGregor Both Want A Trilogy
Looking back on those previous battles, Diaz beat McGregor by submission before losing the second fight by majority decision. When asked about the possibility of them meeting up to settle the trilogy, Diaz said, “I 100 percent guarantee I’m going to fight Conor McGregor again.”
McGregor is interested in getting into the Octagon and taking this fight himself. He previously talked about fighting Diaz again not long ago. However, UFC CEO Dana White doesn’t share the two fighters’ sentiments and has consistently shut down any possibility of them meeting up again. Diaz isn’t fazed by White’s reluctance to put them against one another again.
Diaz Has Other Names On His “Hit List”
Diaz also wanted to rattle off a few other names that he’d like to fight against. Among those names were Jake Paul, Leon Edwards, and Jorge Masvidal. He called all of these fighters his “hit list” and is hopeful to square off with each of them.
We’re already expecting to see Diaz face off with Masvidal, though it’ll be in boxing as opposed to MMA. Masvidal retired from MMA and is contractually only able to box at the moment. After that fight, Diaz will likely look to the other names on his list. He had this to say, “The coolest thing right now from the UFC is Leon Ewards. That’s what I got my sights on. I like that fight right now.”
The last time we saw Diaz, he stepped out of his comfort zone and into the boxing ring, going against Jake Paul. Diaz lost that fight by unanimous decision.
