Ryan Garcia Thinks Tank Davis Will “Fall Off”

Garcia

It feels like yesterday when Ryan Garcia fell victim to a TKO against Tank Davis in one of the biggest fights of all time. A fight that sold over 1.2 million PPVs. Since then, both talented boxers have gone their separate ways, but Garcia doesn’t believe that Davis has what it takes to continue succeeding at the highest level.

Garcia openly stated that he thinks Davis is going to “fall off”, mostly because he’s not taking on the best competition that he possibly could. This has been something that’s been pointed out regarding Davis in the past. Many believed that he could have taken a fight against competitors like Shakur Stevenson and Vasiliy Lomachenko, with the possibility of them being title fights. There’s also the thought that Davis could move up to 140 for belts. Instead, he chose Frank Martin as his next opponent. Davis is a strong favorite in that fight, as Martin isn’t as big of a name as some of his other options available.

When talking about Davis competing against Martin, Garcia said, “I’m not even worried about Tank no more. Tank has got to be worried about us. Tank is going to fall off because he thinks playing that…works.” He continued this statement by claiming that Davis has many fans who inflate the numbers of his fights. Then, he made sure to say, “If you’re not ready to fight, we’re going to forget about you because Gervonta Davis, you’re not that special.”

Ryan Garcia Struggling To Sell His Fight

Ironically, Garcia has been in the news for having some difficulty selling his fight against Devin Haney. These two are anticipated to share the ring on April 20th, with Garcia aiming for Haney’s junior welterweight title. In response to the tickets not selling well, Garcia said that he believed the prices were just too high, with ringside options ranging from $5,000 to $10,000. The prices have since been reduced, but it’s still struggling to sell at a high level. Ryan revealed that he smoked weed and drank alcohol not long ago and has been erratically posting on social media to top it all off. This has divided his fans, with some believing that he needs to take time off to focus on his mental health. The fight hasn’t changed, but Garcia has said that he’s lost sponsors as of late.
