We had back down I-75 and back over to Hallandale Beach for the eighth race at Gulfstream Park as eight three-year-old fillies will run five and a half furlongs on the Tapeta. Post time for the penultimate race of the day is approximately 3:39 pm ET.
After a couple of days off, Quills Picks Winners returns with a trip down to Tampa Bay Downs for their Wednesday finale. Ten horses go to the gate for this allowance going a mile and an eighth on the turf. Looks like the race will be on the turf, with a post time of approximately 4:30 pm ET.
Since we have a Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks prep race today, I thought I would pivot away from my usual way of picking a single race and spotlight the Fair Grounds by looking at the last five races in the card. Yes, this will be a long article, but it will be a fun little exercise here
After originally planning to head to Arkansas for today’s QPW, we head instead to Gulfstream Park for today’s race as Oaklawn has cancelled their entire slate of racing this week in Hot Springs, Arkansas. So we will pivot to Gulfstream Park for their ninth and final race of the day as $25,000 maiden claimers go a mile and a sixteenth on the synthetic.
I am imagining that in New York, specifically in Ozone Park where the Aqueduct Race Track is, has the same conditions as it is here in Philly, though they are closer to the ocean than the city of Philadelphia is.

It’s Monday, so that means that we had to my home track Parx Racing for today’s Quills Picks Winners, and surprise, surprise! We are looking at the sixth race on the card, which is a maiden claiming event for 4-year-olds and up
Sunday 1/14/24 – Santa Anita Race 7
We return to the Great Race Place for Sunday’s QPW as we will look at Sunday’s race 7. We’re back on the hillside turf course for the Grade 3 Las Cienegas going about six and a half furlongs
Albert Hammond Jr. says it never rains in southern California, and at least for now, there is no rain there as we head to Santa Anita for two races today. We will take a look at two different California-bred races here as we will look at race 7, which is the Sunshine Millions Filly & Mire Turf Sprint
