Monday 1/8/24 – Parx Race 6
Let’s head home today, or at least where I call home as we will head to Parx for race 6 for today’s Quills Picks Winners. We did have the winter storm pass through on Saturday, though most of it was rain where I am in Northeast Philadelphia and where the track is in Bensalem, PA.
Let’s head out to Santa Anita for their feature race of the day, the Grace 3 Santa Ynez Stakes going 7 furlongs on the main track. This race is for three-year-old fillies and is part of the Road to the Kentucky Oaks series
Drum Roll Please powered by a front-running El Grande O on a gray day at Aqueduct on Saturday to win the 154th running of the $150,000 Jerome Stakes, earning 10 points in the Kentucky Derby standings.
Let’s head down to Gulfstream for today’s tenth race on the race. This race is the $100,000 Limehouse Stakes with seven three-year-old horses going six furlongs on the main track. Post time for the penultimate race on the 11-race Gulfstream Park card is approximately 4:30 pm Eastern Time.
Let’s stay at Gulfstream today for their eighth race for an optional claiming $62,500 going five furlongs on the turf. Eight horses are entered in the race, and the rail will be out 32 feet from where the rail would normally be.
But we will dabble in today’s featured race, the sixth race at Gulfstream, as if yesterday never happened. We won’t go big knowing there’s a few extra Franklins and Hamiltons in my pocket. That’s what I strive to do when I have a good day at the track or the casino
Let’s head down to Tampa today’s edition of Quills Picks winners as we will take a look at their finale, the ninth race on their card. This is a one mile race on the turf for four year olds and up. There are 14 horses entered for the race, but only 10 will run.
Sometimes, there’s no place like home. For me, that would be racing at my nearest race track Parx Racing, as today we will look at the sixth race on the card which is a race for horses four years old and up going a mile and a sixteenth. Nine horses are entered for this race which can be claimed for a price of $10,000.
I thought that I would write something a little bit different here on Bleacher Brothers with this article. I’m going to let you know my goals and plans here for 2024, at least with my little spot here on the website.
