Following their walkoff win against ECU in game two, the Owls had a chance in game three to take a series over the #12 ranked Pirates. FAU would come out scoring early, but ECU’s bats came alive to overtake the Owls, and escape Boca Raton with a series win.
FAU went into game two against East Carolina hoping to be able to get their offense going against their great pitching staff. The Owls only scored one run in game one, and looked like they couldn’t keep up with the ECU pitching. However, the Owls came out in game two and stuck around with the Pirates the entire game.
FAU started their weekend set against East Carolina Friday night, a series that could only be described as the Owls biggest test at home all season. The #12 ranked team in the country came into the series with a 21-6 record, with a 4-2 conference record.
FAU takes on what could very well be their biggest challenge since taking on Vanderbilt in their opening series. The Owls welcome in conference opponent, and the #12 ranked team in the country: East Carolina Pirates. The two ball clubs both have win streaks on the line going into the series
This week has been a busy one in Boca Raton with 4 key contributors either entering the transfer portal, declaring for the draft, or both. That is the way of the world in today’s college basketball landscape, and although sad to see a potential end of an era, it’s not the end of the world for FAU.
FAU welcomed in Miami for the second time this season, following their series win at Memphis. The Owls pitching staff led the way to a 3-0 shutout victory over Miami. The Owls offense would put up some runs early, and give the pitching staff the confidence they needed to get the shutout win.
FAU star guard Johnell Davis announced his plan to leave the Boca Raton school – one way or another.
FAU takes on Miami for the second time this season at FAU Baseball Stadium Tuesday night. The Owls are coming off of a series win over Memphis, which improved their AAC conference record to 4-2. While this game won’t go towards their conference record, the Owls look to improve their 16-9 record this season, and pick up their second win over the Hurricanes.
FAU entered the rubber match against Memphis, attempting to obtain their second consecutive AAC series win to open up their conference schedule. The previous night the Owls launched seven home runs, tying the program single game record, to even up the series at one game a piece.
