FAU faced off against long-time rival FIU Tuesday night for some midweek action in Miami. The Owls looked to get back on track after dropping two straight games to Wichita State over the weekend. What was expected to be an offensive shootout turned into a rather surprising duel between the two pitching staffs.

FAU entered the game three rubber match in Wichita looking to take another AAC series on the road. The series finale was nearly all Wichita State, as they never lost the lead the entire game. Despite efforts from FAU to spark some kind of a comeback, the Shockers bats never let the Owls get back into the game. FAU leaves Kansas with a 19-14 overall record and a 6-6 conference record.
After a bit of delay, on Monday it was announced by Jeff Goodman that John Jakus had made his first 4 additions to his 2024-2025 FAU staff, with more expected after the NBA playoffs.
After dropping game one to FAU, Wichita State looked to get back on track offensively. They did just that, tallying 14 runs in their game two win over the Owls to even up the series. FAU dropped a very back and forth game and with this loss, now have a conference record of 6-5. Wichita State, after evening the series holds the same conference record, with just two less losses than UTSA and ECU.
On Saturday afternoon FAU took the field in organized fashion for the first time this season with the 2024 Spring Game. The Owls debuted their array of depth, as the white team which was made up of majority 2nd and 3rd stringers competed hard, eventually falling to Team Red 25-17 in what ended up being an inter-squad battle.
FAU and Wichita State entered the first game of their three game series both with 5-4 records in AAC conference play so far this season. The first game FAU would ever play in the state of Kansas would go in their favor, as they managed to total two more runs than the Shockers, and take game one 4-2.
The FAU Owls travel up to Kansas this weekend for a three game series against Wichita State. This will be the first time that either of these two teams have met, and the first time that the Owls will play in the state of Kansas. Both squads have had up and down starts to AAC conference play this season
