Following a miraculous come from behind victory on Friday night, the FAU Lady Owls were rolling with momentum heading into Saturday’s game 2 matchup against Tulsa. That momentum combined with a bit of resiliency was the recipe for success, as the Owls battled back from an early deficit to notch their 40th win of the year.
Tonight was the truest testament to the grit of FAU Softball. After going down 3-0 in the first four innings, it looked like a rough night for the Lady Owls. During the first few innings, FAU battled that deficit, while only recording a single hit (Kamryn Jackson single in the bottom third).
FAU opened up their series at home against UAB Friday night, hoping to get back in the win column following a midweek loss against Florida in which the Owls came up short 10-8. UAB came into game one at the bottom of the AAC standings, and looked to put together a win with Blayze Berry on the mound.
After nearly beating SEC powerhouse Florida in a midweek matchup on Tuesday, FAU welcomes in the UAB Blazers for a three game series this weekend. The Owls come into this series with a 9-9 record in AAC conference play, tied for a share of third place with Tulane and Charlotte. UAB comes into the series with a 7-11 AAC conference record, one spot in front of Memphis in last place.
On Thursday afternoon FAU announced another addition to the Men’s Basketball coaching staff. Adding to the Baylor connections, former Bears G Obim Okeke is joining the squad as a Special Assistant to the HC, coming over to the Owls after 1 season as a Video Analysis associate with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
After taking a crucial conference series in Tampa over the weekend against USF, FAU traveled up to Gainesville to take on the 2023 College Baseball World Series runner ups, the Florida Gators. The Gators are fresh off of a win against the second ranked team in the country: Arkansas.

The two teams both entered the series with a 7-8 conference record, looking to improve that margin heading into the final stretch of the regular season. The Owls would take game one on Friday and after dropping game two on Saturday, they would bounce back to win the rubber match and take the series two games to one.
