Fans were devastated when they heard that the high-profile boxing bout between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk was rescheduled. Two undefeated champions were going to leave it all out in the ring on February 17th, but that’s not going to be the case anymore.
Ryan Garcia is hoping to get into the ring with Naoya Inoue, but in the 140-pound division. Garcia recently said that he believes a matchup between them would be “one of the biggest PPVs of all time” and that he sees it happening in the future.
Rolly Romero is currently leading into a new bout, this time against Isaac Cruz. Romero is entering as a WBA super lightweight champion, while Cruz just recently moved up from the 135-pound division to compete in a 140-pound fight with Romero.
Shakur Stevenson shook up the boxing world when he decided that he would retire from the sport altogether. It was a pretty major decision that Stevenson has stuck with, but Bob Arum believes something entirely different. Arum recently announced that he thinks Stevenson will return to boxing in spite of his retirement announcement.
Chris Eubank and Liam Smith were able to step into the ring together twice throughout 2023. Now, it is looking good that both boxers will want to put together a trilogy match at some point in the near future.
