It was another successful campaign for the Army Black Knights on Thursday as Army took down Temple 42-14. Led by quarterback Bryson Daily. Daily’s performance was a nice follow up to his amazing performance last week against Rice, rushing for three touchdowns and 152 yards while also contributing 54 yards through the air.
The American Athletic Conference has ramped up interest in adding Air Force as a member to put all three service academies into the same league for the first time, a person with knowledge of the AAC’s discussions told The Associated
FAU had a tough showing in week 2 against Army as the Owls were unable to build on the momentum from the strong second half in their season opener and let Army run all over them at home.
The home-opener didn’t go as planned for FAU. Army marched into town and up and down Howard Schnellenberger Field, rushing for 412 yards en-route to a 24-7 victory, which snapped a 4 game home-opener win streak for FAU.
FAU takes on Army in the 2024 Home opener from Boca Raton in less than 24 hours and heading into the matchup FAU is 0-1 and is looking to grab momentum early in the season.
A service academy is coming to town which means the Owls will need to be firing on all cylinders in order to avoid playing into Army’s methodical game. Week 1 saw the Owls offense struggle to get going early on, and needed a spectacular effort from the defense to keep them in it, which eventually resulted in the unit finding some rhythm late which they will need to carry into week 2.
Football is back in full force this week, as week 0 has come and gone, meaning week 1 and a full slate of AAC games are on tap for this weekend.
