Two pairs for the Sandy Owls traveled to Huntsville, Alabama to play in the AVCA Fall Collegiate Beach Championships. A cold weekend in South Alabama had intense competition, including the two pairs from FAU finishing in the top thirty of the tournament.
The Owls played for the last time in Paradise this season, including five seniors on senior day. The team that traveled to paradise was Tulane (14-14, 6-10 AAC). The Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman (1-3) made the three hour trip south to Paradise as Florida Atlantic played their last home game at the Elly until Thanksgiving weekend. A strong start to the contest provided the momentum for the rest of the game as FAU dominated the Wildcats to close out the home stand 3-0.
It was Education Day at the Elly with local schools filling the stands to cheer on Florida Atlantic as they faced off against North Florida (1-3). An 11 a.m. in-state showdown had all the excitement, including a second half comeback for the Owls, as FAU earned victory over UNF.
