World Series Game 2 | Dodger Stadium | 8:08 PM EST
New York Yankees at Los Angeles Dodgers
Carlos Rodon (1-1) vs. Yoshinobu Yamamoto (1-0)
Under 9 Total Runs Scored (-120)
Both of the starting pitchers in this game have held their opponents’ offenses to a batting average below .200. In 24 at bats against Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Yankees hitters have a .125 batting average and a .484 OPS. In 81 at bats against Carlos Rodon, Dodgers hitters have a .198 batting average and an .812 OPS.
The total runs scored in last night’s thrilling Game 1 ended up being nine after extra innings, and with another good pitching matchup tonight taking the under nine runs scored is a solid play.
Yankees Player Props:
Carlos Rodon Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-155)
This line seems low considering how Rodon has performed throughout the postseason. In three starts Rodon hasn’t recorded a strikeout total lower than six. Even when Rodon wasn’t on his best stuff he still managed to record seven strikeouts against the Royals in the ALDS. While this Dodgers offense is very disciplined, he should be able to clear this line if he puts together a semi-decent outing.
Jazz Chisholm Jr. Over 0.5 Hits (-135)
If there’s anything positive to take away from last night’s heartbreaking loss, it was that in extra innings Jazz Chisholm was able to hit, and manufacture a run for the Yankees. He may have finally broken out in this postseason last night, racking up two hits and swiping three bags to go with it.
We’ll take Jazz to stay sharp at the plate tonight in Game 2. A player who plays with energy and passion, hopefully he can feed off of not only his success from the previous game, but also use the loss as motivation to put together good at bats.
Against Yamamoto, Jazz has hit a home run in four at bats. The middle and bottom of the order for the Yankees needs to produce, and Chisholm right now is the main producer from that spot.
Dodgers Player Props
Tommy Edman Over 0.5 Hits (-194)
Compared to the rest of the Dodgers batting order, Edman has some of the best numbers against Rodon in his career. Although it’s a very small sample size of six at bats, Edman has recorded a pair of hits for a .333 batting average and a 1.167 OPS. Edman has been incredible this postseason for the Dodgers, and coming off four multi-hit games in a row, we’ll take Edman to get another hit tonight.
Enrique Hernandez Over 0.5 Hits (-169)
It feels like we’ve been recycling this prop the entire postseason but Hernandez can’t stop hitting. When looking at the Dodgers lineup against Rodon, Hernandez has a .500 batting average against the left hander in six at bats, with three home runs. Sprinkling his over on total bases whether that’s 1.5 or 2.5 is not a bad play tonight either, but we’ll stick with a safer pick of a hit.
