MLB Bets: Yankees vs. Dodgers World Series Game 1 Preview

World Series Game 1

New York Yankees at Los Angeles Dodgers

Gerrit Cole (1-0) vs. Jack Flaherty (1-2)

Yankees Moneyline (+110)

On the road recently Gerrit Cole has been far better than at home. At Kansas City, he helped send the Yankees to the ALCS and on the road tonight in Los Angeles, he can help the Yankees set the tone early in this series.

The offense has put up great numbers against Dodgers starting pitcher Jack Flaherty. Across 54 at bats, the Yankees have hit for a .314 batting average and a .976 OPS against the right hander.

The Yankees have the third highest team postseason OPS on the road, only behind the Dodgers and Padres. That San Diego offense gave Flaherty trouble recording four hits and three runs in Game 1 of the NLDS. The Yankees offense should be in prime position to have a similar performance, and they need to in order to provide their ace with run support

Yankees Player Props:

Anthony Rizzo Over 0.5 Hits (-150)

There’s no better hitter in this Yankee batting order against Jack Flaherty than Anthony Rizzo. In 21 at bats he has nine hits and three home runs. Since returning to the lineup in the ALCS, Rizzo has been a massive part of the Yankees success. A .429 hitter this postseason, Rizzo should look to stay hot tonight.

Juan Soto Over 0.5 Runs Scored (-150)

Soto is tied with Aaron Judge for the second most runs scored among Yankee hitters this postseason with six, and the last three games has recorded four of those six. With how dangerous of a hitter Soto is, the likelihood of him drawing a walk is obviously always in play, and with Judge and Stanton to follow, we’ll take him to score a run tonight.

Dodgers Player Props:

Jack Flaherty Over 2.5 Earned Runs (-110)

For reasons already mentioned, Flaherty could be due to get tagged by this Yankees lineup. They have the highest team OPS against right handed pitching at .777, and have slugged 178 home runs as well. Besides his one seven inning outing against the Mets, he’s given up 15 earned runs in this postseason. That number could exceed 18 tonight if the Yankees continue their success against right-handed starters.

Enrique Hernandez Over 0.5 Hits (-170)

Against Gerrit Cole, Enrique Hernandez has posted great numbers in his career. In 21 at bats, Hernandez has recorded a .381 batting average and a 1.147 OPS. While Cole will be a hard pitcher to get to, if he misses his spots against a hot hitter like Hernandez right now, it could very well end up in a hit.
