Panthers to postpone 2024 Stanley Cup Ring Ceremony due to Hurricane Milton

Sunrise, FL.- Breaking news: The Florida Panthers announce the intention to postpone their 2024 Stanley Cup Championship Ring Ceremony due to the impending threat of Hurricane Milton.

The Cats initially planned on celebrating the club’s first Stanley Cup Championship on Monday, October 7th.

Hurricane Milton has sent the majority of Florida in a state of emergency, including Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade Counties. As the state of Florida braces for the impacts of the storm, Panthers’ President and CEO David Caldwell released the following statement:

“As this event would take resources from first responders and service providers, we have made the tough decision to cancel our Champions Ring Ceremony out of an abundance of caution for the safety of all involved. We will instead distribute our championship rings privately,” said President and CEO Matt Caldwell. “Along with state and local authorities, we are closely monitoring the situation. As of now, Opening Night vs. Boston is scheduled to proceed as intended and we will continue preparing our arena and surrounding areas to safely welcome guests for Opening Night.” (per Florida Panthers).

Any fan that purchased admission to tomorrow’s event can expect full reimbursements.

As President Caldwell stated, all systems are currently a go for Tuesday’s season opener vs the Boston Bruins. Puck drop is still slated for 7:00 P.M. EST
