The Temple Owls migrated to South Florida to face Florida Atlantic for FAU’s second conference match of the season. In the face-off of the Owls it was a 1-1 final as neither team could find a second goal.
Temple’s Kempe had two saves early to keep the match even at 0-0 heading into the half.
The dominant performance began early for FAU as Florida Atlantic had six shots with two on goal in the first half. Florida Atlantic also had nine corner attempts in the first half, the most in a half this season for FAU.
While Florida Atlantic dominated offensively in the first half, it was Temple who found the goal first as an Edgar Bazan goal gave the Owls a 1-0 advantage.
FAU clapped back, as in the 74th minute Noah Kvifte (pictured above, Angelina LaBelle) was able to find the net and even the match up at one.
To end the match, Temple’s Kemali Green received a yellow for time wasting as Temple was content with leaving Boca Raton with a tie.
The second half was fairly even as Temple and FAU both finished with four shots. The total shots in the match was led by Florida Atlantic as the Owls finished the match with ten compared to Temple’s six. FAU had three players with a shot on goal including Enzo Rabot (pictured above, Angelina LaBelle), Sebastian Zettl, and the goal scorer Kvifte. Nacho Alfaro had one save and one goal allowed, while Temple’s Kempe had two saves and one goal allowed.
Florida Atlantic (2-3-3) (0-1-1) has the week off before traveling to Tulsa in search of their first AAC win. The Golden Hurricanes are 1-6-1 on the year and 0-1 in conference play. Tulsa plays FIU before their matchup with the Owls. The match between the Owls and Tulsa is Friday, October 4, at 8 P.M.
