Jacksonville Jaguars star linebacker Foyesade Oluokun was placed on injured reserve Saturday due to his foot injury and will miss at least four games.
Oluokun is dealing with plantar fasciitis, an injury he aggravated during Monday’s 47-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills. The earliest he can return is Week 8 when the Jaguars face the Green Bay Packers on Oct. 27.
Oluokun, 29, leads Jacksonville with 22 tackles and has been one of the top defensive players in the NFL over the past four-plus seasons. He led the NFL with 184 tackles in 2022 and racked up 173 last season.
Oluokon was a sixth-round draft choice out of Yale and spent his first four seasons with the Atlanta Falcons. He led the NFL with 192 tackles in 2021 for the Falcons. He joined the Jaguars as a free agent following that season.
Jacksonville also downgraded safety Darnell Savage (quadricep) from questionable to out. Savage will miss his third straight contest.
The Jaguars also signed tight end Josiah Deguara to the 53-man roster and elevated cornerback Christian Braswell and linebacker Tanner Muse from the practice squad to the active roster.
The Jaguars (0-3) face the Houston Texans on Sunday.
