Miami Marlins at Pittsburgh Pirates
Valente Bellozo (2-2) vs. Paul Skenes (9-2)
Pirates -1.5 + Paul Skenes Over 6.5 Strikeouts
The Pirates and Paul Skenes welcome the Miami Marlins today, to play a rather meaningless game for the most part. Skenes however can use today to get back on track, as his last couple of starts have been rather uncharacteristic. He’s given up nine hits across his last two starts, going five innings pitched in each outing. Against a very weak Miami Marlins team that’s been eliminated from postseason contention, Skenes can look to dominate this start to get the Pirates to cover the spread.
Cincinnati Reds at Atlanta Braves
Nick Martinez (7-6) vs. Charlie Morton (8-7)
Matt Olson Over 0.5 Home Runs
Matt Olson’s numbers against Nick Martinez are great through 13 at bats. Olson has four hits with two of those hits being home runs, for a slashline of .308/.438/.769 and a 1.207 OPS. Power-wise Olson has been cold all season, giving us +325 consensus odds for this prop. While taking a Matt Olson home run prop this season has never been an easy pick to take, his numbers against Martinez are solid enough to take him to deep tonight.
Kansas City Royals at New York Yankees (Same Game Parlay)
Brady Singer (9-10) vs. Carlos Rodon (14-9)
Salvador Perez + Gleyber Torres + Aaron Judge + Juan Soto Over 0.5 Hits (+375)
While a four leg player prop same game parlay is a tough task, each of these hitters have great stats against the opposing pitcher. In 23 at bats against Carlos Rodon, Salvador Perez has hit for a slashline of .435/.458/.739 with a 1.197 OPS, and two home runs. By far the best stats from any Royals hitter against Rodon, picking him to get a hit should be more than doable.
Gleyber Torres has been arguably the Yankees best bat recently. In the last seven days, Torres hit for a .375 batting average and against Brady Singer, he has hit for a slashline of .333/.364/.333 in nine at bats. He’s the hot bat for the Bronx Bombers right now, and he’ll look to improve his numbers against Singer tonight.
Aaron Judge has been in a bit of a slump recently, but like his teammate Gleyber Torres has great numbers against Brady Singer. In 10 at bats, Judge has a .400 batting average against Singer, but no extra base hits. This makes taking simply a hit rather than total bases or other combo stat props a better play here especially given his current slump. Hopefully Judge can snap the slump tonight at home.
Soto rounds out the parlay due to his short track record of success against Singer. In five at bats against the Royals starter, Soto has a pair of hits and a walk. He seems to see Singer very well, and that’ll hopefully translate into a hit tonight.
