Week 0 CFB Parlay: Big spreads create big profits

Week 0 is upon us and the first matchups of the CFB season begin tomorrow, starting with FSU vs Georgia Tech from Ireland at 12 PM est.

Besides that game, we have 3 other matchups that show potential value as a lot of times in week 0 teams can be overestimated and under-estimated.

Game 1: Georgia Tech Vs FSU

PICK FSU ML -450

The first pick is a bit obvious and doesn’t provide too much value, with the Noles at -450 favorites, however it’s a safe add to start off a week 0 parlay.

With the spread at 9.5, I believe that could end up either way, with FSU having the potential to come out hot and blow GT out of the water. However, Tech is led by Haynes King at QB who has shown improvements each year and Tech has been a rising ACC squad over the past few years.

Expect a battle, but the Spread in this one is too dangerous for us.

Game 2: Montana State @ New Mexico

Pick New Mexico +13.5  -110

This is the most surprising spread on the slate, as FCS Montana State comes into this Road Buy game vs New Mexico at 2 touchdown favorites. The oddsmakers are underestimating Bronco Mendenhall, and his ability to change programs and with the former Lobos DC at the Helm I have a hard time believing they lay a 2 TD egg to an FCS program. With Eli Sanders in the backfield alongside a matured Devon Dampier at QB, I’d expect New Mexico to be in this game with a chance to win late.

Game 3: Nevada VS SMU

Pick Nevada +26.5 -110

Nevada comes into this one in the midst of a program rebuild with Jeff Choate making his debut as the Wolf Pack’s head coach following 2 season’s as the Co-DC at Texas. Although Nevada may lose this game to offensive juggernaut SMU, with Choate’s defensive background should look to make this one closer and low scoring, especially within 4 scores.

Game 4 Hawaii Vs Delaware State

Pick Delaware State +39.5 -105

Picking an FCS team to cover in a buy game is always the risky play, and considering the travel issues Delaware State had it becomes even more risky. However, Hawaii isn’t the most overpowering FBS program and didn’t put up 40 points in any of their games last season. Although I expect Hawaii to win this one by a large Margin, 39.5 is too much for me.
