The Diamondbacks are moving on to the NLCS

The Diamondbacks have ended the Dodgers’ season. They made it look easy.

After destroying Clayton Kershaw in Game 1 and pounding  Bobby Miller in Game 2, the D-backs made history against Lance Lynn, getting all the runs they would need in the third inning with four home runs. No team has ever received fewer innings from its starting pitchers in the first three games of a series than the 4⅔ contributed by Dodgers starters in this NLDS.

The D-backs return to the NL Championship Series for the first time since 2007, where they’ll face the winner of the Phillies vs Braves series.

Arizona, the No. 6 seed after squeezing into the NL playoffs with an 84-78 record – has won all five of its games during the postseason, sweeping both the Brewers in a best-of-three series and the Dodgers in a best-of-five.

The 100-win Dodgers are out of the playoffs, and the Arizona Diamondbacks are on to the NLCS. They’ll have four days off before facing the winner of Phillies-Braves in Game 1 on Monday.
