Astros finish off the Twins 3-2, head to their 7th straight ALCS

The Astros are moving on to the ALCS to face the Rangers after a 3-2 victory Wednesday

The Twins didn’t go quietly, but they went anyway as the Astros advanced to the ALCS for the seventh straight season with a 3-2 victory Wednesday in ALDS Game 4.

José Abreu homered for the third time in two games, a two-run blast in the fourth inning that lifted the Astros to their seventh straight ALCS.

osé Abreu, playing his first season with the Astros, hit his third homer in two games in the fourth inning, an opposite-field, two-run shot broke a 1-1 tie and put the Astros ahead for good.

Hector Neris and Bryan Abreu combined for five strikeouts over 2 1/3 hitless innings. Ryan Pressly, who pitched five-plus years for the Twins before a trade to Houston in 2018, struck out the side in the ninth.

The Astros will now face the Rangers, who swept the Tampa Bay Rays in the wild-card round and the Baltimore Orioles in the ALDS, on Sunday in ALCS Game 1.
