The San Jose Sharks acquired the 11th overall pick of the 2024 NHL Draft from the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday.
The Sabres, in turn, received the 14th overall pick and a second-round selection from San Jose. The first-round pick from the Sharks initially belonged to the Pittsburgh Penguins in the trade for Erik Karlsson, while the latter selection (No. 42 overall) originally belonged to the New Jersey Devils.
The Sharks also possess the top overall pick among their nine total selections in this week’s draft.
The Sabres hold nine picks in the draft, which starts Friday at Sphere in Las Vegas.
