Bucks Gaming swept Pacers Gaming on Wednesday in one of four games in the first round of the NBA 2K League 5v5 playoffs in Washington.
Artreyo “Dimez” Boyd had 23 points and 13 assists in the Bucks’ 78-76 overtime win in Game 1 and followed that with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in the clinching 84-58 blowout over the Pacers. The Bucks advance to face the Western Conference No. 1-seeded Warriors Gaming Squad.
The NBA 2K League 5v5 Playoffs, which has a $900,000 prize pool and is a single-elimination tournament, run through Saturday. Five teams from each conference advanced to the playoffs based on their performances in the previous two tournaments, The Tipoff and The Turn — both won by Warriors Gaming Squad.
In other games Wednesday, Cavs Legion GC swept Wizards District Gaming. In Game 1, Abdafatah “TBShiftay” Noman had a game-high 22 points in the Cavs’ 72-60 win. Malik “Slaughter” Leisinger had 24 points and 11 rebounds to power the Cavs’ 73-64 win.
Celtics Crossover Gaming also won in two games versus NetsGC. Enrique “630” Xavier Barraza poured in a game-high 28 points in the Celtics’ 73-61 win in Game 1. David “Leche” Jamous had 24 points and 11 assists to fuel the Celtics’ 77-63 win in Game 2.
Pistons GT advanced to the second round after needing three games to dispatch Lakers Gaming. Anthony “ANT” Costanzo had 47 points and eight assists as the Pistons rolled to an 84-58 victory in Game 1. But the Lakers responded in Game 2 thanks to Vincent “dvnxsty” Magnaldi, who had 22 points and eight assists to fuel their 75-69 win. But the Pistons roared back in Game 3 behind 34 points and 18 assists from “ANT” in their 95-78 blowout.
