Monday 6/10 – Parx Race 7
We head back home to Parx to start off this week here as we will head to the Parx turf course for today’s QPW, as we have an overflow field of 13 horses going a mile and 70 yards in the seventh race on the Parx card. Post time for this race is for 3:26 pm Eastern time.
The 11 American Unity (3/1 morning line) will need at least one horse to be scratch to run today. He will be favored if he runs and should be a dangerous horse here. You can toss the last race at Monmouth. He was right at 8 weeks since his previous race and ran on a sloppy track which he did not like. He’s run 9 races on the turf (all from August to March) and won 5 times with four thirds. Toss that last race, and if he draws in, he will win this race. He’ll be in good position to pull away in the stretch.
The 12 Divine Miracle (9/5 ML) and the 13 Midnight Cat (8/5 ML) are entered for main track only, and they would have an amazing advantage if this somehow went off the turf. It did rain Sunday morning in Philly, but it was not enough to take the races off the turf. At least I don’t think.
The 7 Nautilus (4/1 ML) has run numerous times on the turf at Tampa Bay Downs during their meet and has run very well. He should be no more than a few lengths off the lead and ready to pounce in the stretch.
The 10 Mt Suribachi (9/2 ML) couldn’t hold off the winner in the stretch at Monmouth last month. He is hit and miss on the turf, but we have a bunch of horses here who have not had much success on the turf or even ran there.
The 6 Hardy’s Choice (6/1 ML) did not show much in a starter allowance on the main track but he will return to the turf today where he has had some success. He has two wins on the synthetic at Turfway Park over the winter and might be more familiar with his surroundings at Parx today.
We are going to go with a conditional pick here. If the 11 American Unity draws in somehow, that is my pick today. If not, I’ll go with the 7 Nautilus. Whoever my choice is, it will be a $20 win wager. Good luck everyone!
