Warren Foegele scored early in the third period to cap the Los Angeles Kings’ 3-2 comeback victory over the visiting Dallas Stars on Wednesday night.
Foegele scored his seventh goal of the season on a wraparound at the 2:22 mark of the third to break a 2-2 tie and extend the Kings’ season-long win streak to four games.
Foegele and Tanner Jeannot each had a goal and an assist and Joel Edmundson also scored for Los Angeles, which improved to 9-2-1 at home. David Rittich made 26 saves.
Wyatt Johnston and Mason Marchment scored goals for Dallas, which had a three-game win streak snapped. Jake Oettinger finished with 14 saves for Dallas, which had won its previous four games against Los Angeles.
Dallas jumped out to a 1-0 lead at the 2:34 mark of the first period on a power-play goal by Johnston, who jammed home his own rebound for his fifth goal of the season.
Marchment extended the lead to 2-0 later in the first period. He took advantage of a Kings turnover in their zone and then fired a wrist shot from the top of the slot past a screened Rittich.
The Kings rallied to tie it at 2-2 in the second period. Jeannot buried a rebound of his own shot that caromed to him off for his third goal of the season. Edmundson blasted a one-timer from the left point that deflected off defenseman Miro Heiskanen and went in for Edmundson’s fourth goal.
Foegele then scored the game winner early in the third period after getting the puck from Jeannot behind the net and beating Oettinger with the wraparound shot.
