Quills Picks Winners – Tuesday 11/19 – Finger Lakes Race 6

We stay at Finger Lakes on this Tuesday, taking a look at the sixth race on their card. We have juvenile fillies going a mile and 70 yards on the main track.

Before we get into the race, remember yesterday telling you that Marilyn’s Ny Pride (#3, 20/1 morning line) and Country Manor (#7, 5/1) were cross entered with a race yesterday? Well, they were both scratched and should be running here today.

Finger Lakes Race 6 – Maiden Special Weight

Favored in today’s race is the 2 Lipan Law (5/2 ML). She has three seconds and a third in four tries so far in her young career. She should love the added distance here today as her sire is Tiz the Law who won the 2020 Belmont and Travers. Tiz the Law’s offspring so far are 3 for 5 so far in a fairly small sample size so far going a mile or more on the dirt.

Finger Lakes

The 5 Freedom Dreams (4/1 ML) lost all chances at the start last time out at Finger Lakes veering out and bumping foes. She was close to the pace in her debut and just missed. Her sire is Always Dreaming, the 2017 Kentucky Derby winner, whose offspring average 6.9 furlongs per winning race, which should help the 5s chances today.

The 9 Lilith’s Moon (10/1 ML) is the only filly that has gone this far in their young careers so far. She faced a runaway winer last month here at Finger Lakes going today’s distance. She adds blinkers for her second attempt going around two turns here today.

The 6 I’m Pretty Good (7/2 ML) should improve here today at Finger Lakes going around two turns today. Her sire Good Samaritan averages 6.7 furlongs per win with a fairly large sample six.

Joe’s Pick

In a race like this where 90 percent of the field never ran this far, sometimes you have to dig further looking for a winner here. I’ll take Freedom Dreams over Lipan Law in a race that should benefit these two fillies the most. I’ll call this 5-2-9-6 and my play is $20 to win on the 5.

Best of luck everyone, and I’ll see you in the winner’s circle!
